Migrating to New Machine (Outlook 2002)

Hi

1) I have installed Outlook on a new PC, and am trying to move my data. To
be save, I saved the data from the old PC using Backup and using Export. How
do I get the data onto the new PC without it showing up in a separate folder
in Outlook (I want it to appear under the Outlook Today folder/section.

2) After doing an Import, my old data is now in a separate folder. How do I
delete that folder?

Exporting/Importing is NEVER the way to save Outlook data to use on another
machine.

Hi Milly

Thanks for the link. I actually did use the Backup, replacing the new
outlook.pst file with my renamed backup file, as described on the
Microsoft website:

(scroll down to the Troubleshoot Personal Folders Backup -> I created a
backup copy of my file and now I need to use it.
-> "Your entire .pst file"

After doing this everything seemed fine, until I tried to use my address
book on an email. Whenever I try to open the adress book, I get the
following error window: "The address list could not be displayed. The
Contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it
may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. For
information on how to remove this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see
Microsoft Outlook Help".

Any ideas?

Whenever you change your information store, you must instruct the Outlook
Address Book to use it. It has no way of knowing what you did. Set your
current Contacts Folder as an email address book (in its Properties) and
configure the Outlook address book to use it. Instructions on this are
