Migrating hard drive problem

I am trying to update to a larger hard drive, I currently have a 40 gig going to a 250 gig both are seagate, my 40 is a ata 100 and the new 250 is a sata. my system is as follows gigabyte GA-K8NS ultra 939 that has sata motherboard support, 2 gig of mem DDR 400,
I am using the software that seagate has on their website for migrating (Acronis Migrate Easy 7.0) I have had no problem with the migrating process, I just cant get the system to boot the new sata drive after I unhook the eide drive, what if any changes do I need to do in the bios to change the boot drive? or should it reconize it on it's own.

Check the BIOS setting. Set the Harddisk as first boot device.
