Migrate users after upgrade to W2KAdvSrv

My users each have loads of stuff in their profiles on
their own PC's (some laptops). Profiles were never
roaming. Now I upgraded NT4Srv to W2KAdvSrv and no users
were retained on new server. In re-creating each user on
the new W2K server will that erase any profile settings
users have on their PC's? Can identities be copied
somehow?

I see article 234548 explaind how to migrate users - but
after
1.)creating a new user on the server for an existing one
on one of the PC's
2.)on that user's PC, System Properties, copy a profile to:
3.)identifying the 'documents and settings' folder on the
server with an OK click
4.)I get "this will erase all information in this folder"
5.)panic and back out
Will this really wreck docs & setts?

How does one identify the place to copy a profile to?
