Am upgrading to a k8 64 bit MOBO and CPU
is it possible to put Win XP PRO on then upgrade to Win
XP 64 bit edition or do i have to buy a new xp edition???
 
Windows XP 64-bit version will not upgrade over the standard
32-bit version of Windows XP Pro.

The AMD 64 bit CPUs can run 32 bit XP. Or you can download and try
the AMD 64 bit beta of XP. Just be sure you are able to obtain
drivers for all your hardware first.
