Microsoft Word 2000 won't open e-mail attachments?

When I receive an incoming e-mail with an attachment, I try to open the
attachment, I do not want to save it. Microsoft Word 2000 is my editor, and
a screen pops up saying it cannot find the file. I even tried to go ahead
and save the file and then tried to open it, again Word says it cannot fine
it. I close that screen and I click on file and I find the file myself under
My Documents. This problem has just started and I do not know how to fix it.
I did remove the program MicroSoft Office 2000 completely and reinstalled it
to no avail. The problem still persists. Can anyone help?

Sorry. This is a newsgroup dedicated to questions about Access, the
database program in Office Professional. It appears your question may not
be related to these subjects. The Microsoft help system is not all that
clear and may have misdirected you here.

It is best to ask your questions in a newsgroup dedicated to the
subject of your question. You should find people better able to address
your problem there.

Note: It is always best to indicate the name and version of any
program(s) you may be using when asking a question and also indicate the
operating system (like Windows XP or 98) when you ask a question.
