Microsoft Wireless Optical Notebook Mouse Model 1023

I have the M/S Wireless Mouse model 1023 and my notebook is also equipped
with an Elantech Touchpad. Sometimes I use one and sometimes the other and
there are no icompatibility ssues. I now need to change the settings of the
mouse to make it left-handed because of RSI in my right hand. I do not want
to make the touchpad left-handed. My problem is I cannot find anywhere to
make changes to the mouse as the only software I can find on the computer if
for the touchpad. How do I make the mouse left-handed without changing the
touchpad?

I have seen this problem only with MS mice and Intellipoint software. MS
"seems" to never have intended to set the "external" mice (not built-in) to
be a "separate" mouse with its own configuration. MS mices completely takes
over the standard mouse settings.

However, I also seen the Logitech wireless work in the way you want, providing
you install the SetPoint software. Unfortunately, the SetPoint software only
works on Logitech mice, since @ 2 years ago.

Thanks Yves. Interesting to note I bought said mouse from a reputable
official M/S dealer in Australia but when I looked on the M/S support site
they responded "This product is not supported in the country where it was
purchased". It now appears it is not supported at all! (See comment from
