Microsoft Virtual Machine

Tom M.

I want to use Virtual Machine on a new lap top running Windows Vista. I use
it for work and have several program compatibility issues. My home pc has
windows xp (oem) recovery partitioned on the hard drive. Can I copy this
operating system on to an external drive to use for another operating system
on Virtual Machine. If so how is this done. Any help would be appreciated.

That would be a violation of the EULA, you can only use the OEM version on
the PC it came with, you need another license to run on a virtual machine,
not to mention it is very unlikely the recovery would run on a VM anyway.
