microsoft udates/troubleshooter

the trouble shooter did did not resolve the problem. I
keep getting security alert screens popping up. I tried
to download the lastest updates and get the " windows
update has encountered an errror and cannot supply the
requested page" the trouble shoooter led me to the
registry however the last key it mentions is not there.
any ideas?
 
Visit the Windows Update newsgroup and read the messages
posted there for helpful troubleshooting tips.
