Microsoft return policy for Vista Ultimate?

C

CanIreturnVista

I recently built another computer and purchased Vista Ultimate.

I decided to uninstall Vista and install XP Pro after a few weeks of using
Vista.

Actually I had no choice but to rebuild a raid array and reformat and
install another OS. What had happened was during a power failure and while
Vista was taking a siesta in sleep mode I lost power. Since I had a surge
protector but no battery back up Vista did not shut down correctly and I
believe the MBR became corrupt. Vista never woke up. I could not repair or
recover and every time I turned the computer on I would get a blue screen
within seconds of seeing the Windows loading meter.

Since I have a very busy career, I just wanted to get back to an OS that
worked without having to spend MY time and effort into reseaching and fixing
just to get something that is XP solid. I'm back on XP with the same hardware
and running like a champ.

Is their a 30 day return policy?

I will accept a gift certificate, refund check, or credit.

No - as you install there is a 'you accept it, you bought it' choice.

Quoted from the MS website:

http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/productrefund/refund.mspx

Microsoft offers a 45 day refund on all there products.

Along with a up to 7.00 for return shipping. The number to call:

1-888-673-8624

This applies to retail items purchased in North America only. If it is
an OEM item, you need to return it for a refund from the OEM you
purchased it from.

look at the link Andre posted.
That policy has been around for years and applies to retail purchased
in North America.
The only change I recall was a few years ago when it changed from 30
days to 45 days.
Other regions may have other programs.

You should have reinstalled it; but as you say, you are too lazy(busy, my
foot)!
