Have just downloaded latest pics from my card reader and my pictures folders
are giving me trouble. Setting is thumbnail which always has shown small
image of my pic but now is replaced by standard windows icon, have to double
click to open and see my picture. Also, slideshow option no longer operates.
Help!

Try this, maybe it will restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

Thank you John Inzer!! Back in business....
Could you tell me why this happened? Could it have anything to do with
Lexar card reader, this is a new piece of equipment I am using, previously
downloaded from camera.

Who knows? It could have been caused by
something you installed. Or it could have
been related to the issue described in the
following article if you installed any updates.
