Microsoft Outlook error 554

We've had to re-install all software following a hard disc error & can't send
emails from microsoft outlook 2003. Have tried sending to different addresses
to ensure it's not something at the other end, so to speak!

The message comes back as "undelivereable" with error message -
554 5.7.1 <recipient address>: recipient address rejected: access denied

can anyone help me out please?

Sounds like you should check your configuration against what your ISP says
it should be. If I had to guess, you need to tell outlook that it should
sign in on the server when sending mail.
