You can download a 60-day trial version of Office 2003 Standard
Edition from
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/standardtrial.mspx.
When the trial expires, it will stop working and you'll have to either
pay for it or remove it from your PC.

Since the Standard Edition is probably more than you need, you should
probably look at either the Office Student & Teacher Edition, or
Microsoft Works Suite, either of which will be much cheaper. (Be
careful, though -- Works without the "Suite" in its name doesn't
contain Word.) These can be bought from reputable online vendors or
from stores such as Staples or Office Depot.

If somebody offers you a cheap or free copy of Office as a download,
it's probably pirated software.

Then I remembered that I just gave an unused copy of Office XP Pro to a
friend of mine.
