Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem

I'm using MS XP Home. I have MS Office 2004. I'm using Outlook 2003 and I
keep coming up with "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem..."
as I go to retrieve my email. It prevents me from downloading my email or
using Outlook at all. I've set my computer for fixes & downloads from MS, but
nothing has helped. I'm at wit's end with this as it's been 8 weeks now and
not being able to use my Outlook?

Anyone out there with any answers for this problem? I hate to completely
uninstall MS Office just to reinstall Outlook when that may not help.

Any suggestions from MS or any Power Users?

Thank you.

We need to know the Details. When you get an "Illegal Operation" or
"encountered a problem" message, there's usually a "Details" button or a
"click here" link to see the error report. When you click the button/link,
it will show a message like: XXXX caused an error in YYYY and a bunch of
register nonsense or it will list the Appname XXXX and Modname YYYY. The
XXXX and YYYY are important to identify the cause and solution. You can
ignore the rest of the message.
