i know that this isnt probably the right place to be asking this question,
but i recently got a new aser aspire laptop which has windows vista basic. i
have connected to the internet etc but whe i downloaded windows live
messenger an error message pops up saying 'windows messenger has stoped
working. a problem caused thi program to stop working corectly. windows will
close the program and notify you if a solution is available' then it just
closes. i have tried to download it again but the same thing happens. does
any one know if there is an easy solution that can fix this? also when it
closes a litle pop up message appears and says data excuation prevention has
closed messenger. can this be the problem?

Your UAC has an exception list ??? - are you serious ?

The only exceptions list available is for the firewall.

I think they are confusing that with UAC.

well to be absoutly honest iam not entirely sure what the UAC is?

User Access Control, the extra "Are you sure" they put in so it's your
arse in a sling instead of Microsoft's when you FUBAR your system :)

thats what i was thinking, like even though i hav no idea what the UAC was
the only exceptions list was tha one in the firewall settings...
