Microsoft Junk! Junk! Junk!!

My CD-DVD rom reader /writer reads every kind of disc inserted into it
except ones produced by Microsoft. ie. Vista Installation discs, Microsoft
streets & Trips, etc. etc.

Not Even Me

I didn't know there were any 'smart' CD/DVD decks available...LOL

If it reads other disks, I would venture to guess that the disks that it
doesn't read are either dirty or defective.
Clean the disks, clean the deck.
If all else fails, new CD/DVD decks start at $29, they are even available at
Wal-Mart...

It's obviously an Open Source CD drive....

lol...

You could also double-check the discs in a mate's CD drive, which would
further clarify whether it's the CDs or the drive.

I'd agree that the drive appears to be giving up the ghost and it might be a
good time to look into a new one.
