Microsoft Games - Hearts, Minesweeper etc

Maree

Some of my games have disappeared. The only ones I have
left are Solitaire, Hearts, Freecell and Spider
Solitaire. I have done a search and can't find them.
Any ideas of how to recover them?

Thanks
Maree.

Go into Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and then click the link in the
left pane, "Add/Remove Windows Components." With Accessories and Utilities
highlighted in the first screen, click the Details button. Highlight Games
in the next screen and again click the Details button.

You can remove or add check marks to the left of the games on the next
screen as you wish, then when you're set with your selections, OK your way
out.

Thanks Chris, they are all there now. Can you tell me
why I couldn't find them when I did a 'search' of 'my
computer'?

Maree.

Probably because you have "system" files hidden, and the games are part of
the Windows System. The settings on the View tab in Control Panel/Folder
Options give you choices for Hidden files and folders, Hide extensions for
known file type, and Hide protect operating system files (Recommended). If
these are selected or turned off, even a Search in Windows Explorer won't
reveal them.

Glad it worked for you.
