Microsoft Force Feedback Wheel problems

I just recently upgraded to XP from Windows Me. When
using the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel it
will loose all of it's settings each time I enter the
game it is to be used on. I go into the Wheel's control
panel and set my scheme and force levels and then go into
the game and the wheel just goes back to the default
stiff setting. It never used to do this in Windows Me, in
fact I never had a problem at all with it until now. Any
suggestions, I really hate to give this gaming device up.

This is the USB wheel correct? Have you tried to reinstall the version 4.0
software? If you haven't I would uninstall and reinstall that first. It is
safe to ignore the warnings about possible incompatibility for Windows 2000.
If that doens't work can you give me more details about what games this
happens in and the exact steps you do to see this?
