Microsoft Exchange is Unavailable

Over the past two months, we are now receiving an error message "Microsoft
Exchange is Unavailable". then Retry, Work Offline comes up. If Retry is
pressed, it usually comes up on the first retry but sometimes takes up to 4
retries. It doesn't matter if Outlook 2003 is used or Outlook 2007. It
doesn't matter XP or Vista. It also doesn't happen all of the time. Does
anyone have any idea of what it might be that is causing this? The server is
windows 2003 with Exchange 2003.

I would start looking at the log files on the clients and Exchange server. I
would also take a look at your DNS server and check the records involved.
