Microsoft Equation 3.0

I've been experiencing errors with equation 3.0.
Whenever I have been working for about an hour in Word my equations start
changing their font size, position and the line hight for the following
words.

I've tried reinstalling... installing on another computer with a different
license and a different operating system, but the error is the same.

Has anyone else had this happen?

PS. Is there no way of contacting microsoft without paying for it? Because
paying 250USD for a product and getting 99% errors just isnt good enough.

Steff, I can think of a couple of things that may be causing that.

1) How are you setting the size for the equations initially? If you're
dragging the corner to make them the size you want, this is no doubt
the cause of the problem. With Equation Editor open, the menus you see
are Equation Editor menus, not Word menus. Set your font in the Style
menu (click "Define"). Set the font size at Size > Define. When you
set the size, make the Full size the same as your text in Word, making
sure to include "pt" after -- 12pt, for example. For the other sizes,
use %. I recommend these values: 58%, 45%, 150%, and 100%.

2) The other thing that may be causing it is copying and pasting
equations within the document. Much better is to open Equation Editor
for each equation. That can get real old real fast if you don't have
an icon on your toolbar (or on the QAT if you're using Word 2007 --
you didn't tell us which version of Word you're using). If you want to
put the icon on the toolbar/QAT, best thing to do is search the
newsgroups or Google. There are lots of places to find the info. (I'd
tell you how, but the procedure is different for Word 2007 and I don't
know what you're using.)

An OK way to use copy & paste is to keep an Equation Editor window
open, copy from there and paste into the document. To open it
separately, press Win+R (the key with the Windows logo on it and R, at
the same time). In the Run dialog, enter this in the "Open" text
window: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\EQUATION\EQNEDT32.EXE" (with quotes).
