Microsoft English (U.S.) Recognizer

I run XP Home on a Toshiba Laptop (A75-2112).

I cannot use voice commands in Street Atlas because it requires the
Microsoft recognizer.

Only the Toshiba recognizer is installed on the computer.

I wasn't clear. What I need is the recognizer I can load into Windows
XP.

I don't need software development tools.

Thanks for the response.

I had found that and even downloaded one of the files. However, that
is a software development kit and I cant use it.

What I'm looking for is an install file for installing the recognizer
in my Win XP Home. It may be on my Windows CD, but I have no idea how
to find it.

It apparently comes with some MS applications (like Office XP), but I
don't have those.

I just upgraded to a Toshiba Laptop from a Dell. The Dell had Win98
and the recognizer was there.

XP doesn't have it (neither Home or Pro).

Oops. I just re-read your post.

Speech Recognition does *not* come with Windows XP.

You have to have at least Word 2002 or Office XP. Or another third party
program.

If you want Speech Recognition, you're gonna have to purchase one of those
programs.

You may even find it a little cheaper if you look around.

Word 2002 is what I am using, from Works Suite 2005, it includes speech.
