I KNOW THIS IS SHOUTING BUT WHEN ARE MICROSOFT GOING TO PUT SOME EFFORT INTO
STOPPING THIS SWEN VIRUS? SURELY WITH THEIR TECHNOLOGY THEY SHOULD BE ABLE
TO TRACK WHERE THEY ARE COMING FROM??
I'VE CHANGED MY EMAIL ADDRESS IN NEWSGROUPS TO SOMETHING FICTITIOUS BUT AM
STILL GETTING ABOUT 200 A DAY!!!!!!!

The spammers ALREADY HAVE YOUR E-MAIL address. Changing it in the
newsgroups WON'T remove it from the spammer PC. You WILL continue to get
them until you CHANGE your e-mail address.

I've cooled down a bit now. I thought that was the case but to change my
email address would cause me a great deal of grief. This morning's outburst
was after I'd just got 236 more emails

You can "filter" them somewhat using the subject line but it uses random
names in the "from" line so thats a waste of time.

Just downloaded Mailwasher as suggested in another Group great little
program at least I can delete them in bulk now before they're downloaded to
my machine

You might as well want to check the ips from which the viruses are sent and
contact the according ISPs so they can take care of the problem.
