microsoft e-mail

when e-mailing text it goes without a hitch. when sending a
attchment file say a picture less then 1 mb. it will hang.
i can receive any size e-mail and dowload without a problem.
 
What error do you get? Does it still happen when you disable the outgoing
scanner on your virusscanner?
