microsoft client connection to Win98

I have just installed Win2000 and set up Microsoft Client
networking to my other computer, which is running Win98.
The Win2000 computer can see the hard drive on the Win98
computer, but as soon as I try to access the Win2000
computer from My Network Places/Workgroup on the Win98
computer, I get a pop-up asking me for a password to
access resource //David/icp$ (David is the name of the
2000 computer). Neither my admin password nor my user
account password work. What did I do wrong?

Make sure all computers are in the same workgroup and that all useraccounts
exist on all computers (W2K/XP's). Got File- and printersharing loaded? Is
Netbios over TCP/IP enabled (Advanced properties of TCP/IP, tab WINS)?

David,
Another way of saying what Marina said is this. The user
name and password you use to logon to the W98 machine
needs to exist as an account on the Win 2k machine. Win
2k is a secure environment you cant use its resources
without a user name and password.

You can setup an account by going to
start/settings/control panel/users and passwords.
