Microsoft 0/ Ad-Aware 28

Steve

I think we have a way to go in the development of
Microsoft's anti-spyware utilities. When I run
Microsoft's anti-spyware (beta1) I have never had it
detect a single spyware program on my computer. But if I
run Ad-Aware (1.06), immediatly afterwards it find 28 of
them. Any feedback would be helpful.

Thanks,
Steve

Lance - you've posted two lists:

1) MRU--lists of most recently used locations. I don't believe Microsoft
Antispyware does anything about these except perhaps in the context of the
tracks cleaner. The tracks cleaner is generally considered to be unreliable
by regulars here, and ccleaner is recommended instead. MRU lists are not
spyware in any sense--they are a privacy issue among users of the machine.

2) Tracking cookies. Microsoft Antispyware does not selectively scan for or
remove cookies. The tracks eraser will allow you to remove all cookies,
which generally has highly undesirable results for most users.

So--indeed you've posted two categories of objects that Microsoft
Antispyware "doesn't work" with--by design.
