The MicroSoft Anti-Spyware has never found any spyware on
my system. However; after running the program I run Ad-
Aware SE which always finds several data-miners. What is
going on ????

Hi

MSAS don´t scan for data miners and tracking cookies.
Keep Lavasofts Adaware as alternate scanner !

I find it useful to have SpywareBlaster, Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware, in
addition to MSAS and the Popup Blocker / Toobar, for a full, comprehensive
scan process. Haven't had the slightest conflict yet between the apps
either.

Hi

I tries to minimize numbers of programs so I uninstall
Spywareblaster and
let MSAS handle all realtime protection on all PCs.

For standard scannings I use MSAS and Adaware.
Before scanning CCleaner.

To clean a infected PC I also use Spybot and HijackThis.

I also believe SP2.s popup blocker is enough (XP).

SpywareBlaster is definitely not one I would pick to uninstall--since it
doesn't involve any active process running on your machine--you run it,
update, apply all protection, and exit.

This is the lowest-footprint protection I know of.

Yes it is but I believe it is important to minimize
numbers of protecting programs.

It is impossible for a normal user to maintain too many.

And I also thrust MSAS..... ;)

I agree--on both counts. Keep it as simple as possible, and use the best
tools you can afford.
