messiah by shiny

Hello there. I've been trying to get the games Messiah by Shiny/Interplay to
work on my computer but each time, the program plays the introductory video
(very annoying and there's no way to skip it) it then kicks you out back to
the desktop.
Has anyone experienced this and if so could they please advise how to get it
to work?
I've tried it in windows 95+98+me compatibility mode and that didn't do
anything, the game didn't even start.
I'm using WindowsXP with a 128 DDR ATI Radeon 9800 graphics driver:-
6.14.1.6297
Any help would be appreciated.

bugs/patches

Hi Jay,

They have a patch for sound issues in the opening video:
http://www.interplay.com/support/product.asp?GameID=16#patches
which in a roundabout way may solve your problem as well.

They also offer other suggestions on that page, however make
sure you have Windows Media Player 9 installed, as usually solves
problems where video's need you to have a specific Codec installed.
