How do you get rid of the xp's messenger upgrade message? Everytime I
connect or when I run outlook I get an annoying message asking if i want to
upgrade to the newer version.

If you use windows messenger(instant message program), then update it. If
you dont use messenger, open it, goto: tools, options, preferences, uncheck:
allow to run in background and run messenger when windows starts.

I don't use messenger. I checked preferences and everything was unchecked,
but still getting the message.

You have to turn it off in outlook express as well. Tools, options, general
tab, uncheck: auto log on to windows messenger. Then reboot. If it comes
back, try start, run, msconfig, startup tab, uncheck: msmsgs. If it still
comes back, just update the thing and be done with it.

My outlook was also unchecked and my startup tab was ok.. I'll update the
darn thing and forget about. Thanks for the help....
