Hello,
Why can't I close the Windows Messenger 4.7 from the
System Tray even though it is linked to Windows XP and/or
other file(s) that is/are using files connected to it?

Zack

I receive a message saying "There are other applications currentl
using features using Windows Messenger. You must close these othe
applications before you can exit Windows Messenger. These application
may include Outlook, Outlook Express, MSN Explorer, and Interne
Explorer."

How can I exit Windows Messenger 4.7?
THNX

*Greetings Zack,

You can -- simply right-click on the icon and choose Exit.

Hi,

Assuming you've closed those applications, do you have Norton Antivirus installed? Recent
versions of Norton Antivirus added a new "instant messaging scanning" feature, which can
conflict with Messenger and display this behavior. To stop it, open Norton Antivirus
(Right-click on the Norton Antivirus icon in the System Tray/Notification Area (by the
clock), choose 'Open Norton Antivirus'), click Options, then Instant Messenger then uncheck
MSN Instant Messenger and click OK.
