Hi all!

Does anybody know why the messanger 4.7 starts when the computer starts up
even though the messanger is not the start up list? How can I stop it?

Thanks

open up messenger and go to its options/tools and look for
the option to stop it from starting up

Is the actual Messenger Service disabled? To disable it, go into
Administrative Tools -> Services and it should be near the bottom of
the list, disable it there.

And how is /that/ going to help, pray?! Do some research before posting
rubbish! The messenger service has absolutely nothing to do with Windows
Messenger /or/ MSN Messenger.

If you do not want Messenger at all, then you can rename the Messenger
folder to something like: Messenger~
It's impossible to be started and easy to change if you want it.

If you want Messenger, and just not at the startup, then don't rename the
folder.

Check to see in Outlook Express if its Tools - Options have 'logon to
Windows Messenger. Also if its View - Layout has Contacts checked
(Messenger is the program that handles them)
