Windows Messanger 6.1 does not auto start

I just installed Windows Messager 6.1 on my XP Box. In the
TOOLS/OPTIONS/GENERAL box, I check off
"Automatically run messanger when I log into windows"
and
"Automatically sign in when connected to the internet".

When I shutdown and reboot Windows, Messanger does NOT start. It does
however start manually OK.

Any ideas?

No such thing as Windows Messenger 6.1. The latest version is 4.7. What you
installed is MSN Messenger. If you're having problems with it, first disable
Windows Messenger.
