Messaging Interface error

Office 2000 Outlook returns the above error when I go to SEND a new message.
I go out immediately come back in,paste the same message and SEND works.
I have emptied the Delete folder; held down the SHIFT key etc to no avail.
This started happening; has not been a problem previously. The only change I
made in Outlook was to put my Contacts into separate sub-folders (i.e.
Business,Personal etc.). Oh, and I did the "Detect/Repair" thing but it had
no effect.
Bewildered. Any help is appreciated.

N0. I copy the message text; close Outlook then re-open Outlook>New
message>paste the text>SEND and it goes without the messaging interface error
coming up. Go figure ?

What does 'go out immediately come back in' mean? Is outlook crashing and
you restart it?
