Messages to this newsgroup disappear when downloaded?

I've noticed that for the last few days, when I download this
newsgroup's messages in the morning, initially about 140
messages than the ones I download appear in the number
of unread messages for this newsgroup. Are they all from
people who have earned a place in my news rules list
(killfile) or does one of the recent Vista updates delete
them as spam?

Robert, it really is difficult to picture what you describe above.

Definitely not what you assume from your post.

First off go to tools>options>read, and remove the check mark from get ###
headers.

Do a Sync all from the tools menu, (that button can be added to the toolbar,
via customise).

Now as belt and braces, while viewing this group, go to tools>get headers,
those combined should show all available on the server.

You know, to have 'show all messages' selected in view>current view, so I
will not mention that :)

HTH?
