Newsgroup opens at last read message

When I open a newsgroup and new messages are downloaded, I like to have the
messages displayed starting with the most recent unread messages at top.
However, when I open a newsgroup in Windows Mail, the display shows the most
recent read message, presumably since it was the message that had focus
before the new messages were downloaded. Often this read message is in the
middle of the display, with some newer unread messages on top of it, but
also with some even newer unread messages on top of those. It is easy to
forget to scroll up to get the newest messages and as a result it is easy to
miss some messages.

Is there a setting to get Windows Mail to display the messages starting from
the most recent message (typically unread), as if you had scrolled to the
top after downloading new messages?

one of the things that was discovered during beta and ms decided was not serious enough to fix at that time.
maybe in sp1 it will be fixed.
