Messages Get Stuck in Outlook 2003 Outbox

I am having a frequent problem with some messages getting stuck in the
outbox. They message info is shown in italics. When one message gets
stuck, any messages I try to send after it get stuck behind it and will
not go.

Most of the time, shutting down and rebooting WinXP will fix it but
that is a real pain.

Any ideas what might be causing this? I am running the latest versions
and updates of WinXP Pro and MS Office 2003.

Thanks.

I've found that this is usually caused by antivirus checking the outgoing
messages. Turning off "check outgoing mail" sometimes helps. Also
editing/highlighting the message in the Outbox can cause this. Always drag
the message to another folder and resend.

After a reboot does it work for a few minutes to an hour and stop again? Do
you have the MSN Search toolbar installed? If so, uninstall it.
