Messages stuck in outbox send next day

I had several important messages to my boss get stuck in my outbox and
they were not sent until the next day. Is there a way I can show my
boss that I did create the message yesterday and it was just stuck in
the outbox? It shows the message as being sent with today's date even
though I meant to sent it Saturday night. When I looked this morning
it was still in my outbox and after hitting send/receive it went out.
Thanks in advance for your help!

If you retain your messages in the Sent Items folder, the creation date of
the message should correspond to the time it entered your Outbox.

The real question is how can you work for someone who won't believe you?

How do I find the creation date? If I open the message and go to
properties the three dates/times it displays are identical and match
the date the message was sent, not created.

Open the folder where the message resides (Sent Items, probably) and
right-click on the header line containing the words "TO, "Subject", "Sent",
etc. Select "Field Chooser". You should get a pop-up that lists fields.
Click on the "Created" field and drag it to the header line, in front of the
"Sent" column, perhaps. Release the mouse button. See if this date
corresponds to when you created the message.
