messages disappear in Outlook 2007

I have had Office 2007 for about 2 months now. In Outlook, things just
disappear from the unread, inbox and deleted items box. I go through every
folder, including the deleted folder and the messages are not to be found.
And from the inbox, I can delete several messages, some will go to the delete
folder and others are just no where to be found. Where do these emails go??
I will be looking at the unread mail folder, click to something else, come
back to the unread folder and some messages will be gone (and not in the
inbox either), and not to be found in any of the other folders. This
morning, a very critical business email disappeared from the unread mail
folder. This is killing my business. Any ideas out there? And I am not
real technical.

I have now found some if I use the Search Outlook feature, but I have to be very specific and know about the email that has vanished. The problem is not solved and I would think that it would be happening to a lot of users and surely Microsoft is aware and would be working on it. They do not respond to any queries other that to send one to this forum. Microsoft is useless when it comes to supporting their own product.
