Messages disappear after filing in folder

Whenever I file an email message in a folder that I've set up, it
disappears. It may be there a few moments after I file it, but not
long after, it's gone.
Any idea why this might be happening...and what I can do to be sure
that no more messages disappear.

Verify that your view in any particular folder is set to see all messages and
not just unread messages. View > Current View.
If that's not the issue, please post back.

Is this folder set to auto-archive?

Right-click on the folder and select Properties, then click on the
AutoArchive tab and see if archiving is enabled on that folder.
