Hi Eveyone,
Everytime Windows XP Home starts up a message appears on the screen saying
scopedll.exe cannot be found. Anyone know what this is or how to stop it. It
doesnt seem to stop Windows starting up or any of my commonly used software.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards, Darren

Google is your friend...

"scopedll : scopedll.exe - Added by a variant of the CRYPTER.C TROJAN!"

So, it would seem that your system is somewhat infected. Hijack This and
http://housecall.trendmicro.com will probably help you significantly.

Make sure that you run the Hijack This scan more than once. Some of the
things that it removes are symptoms, not causes; if you see things
re-appearing after you've cleaned them out, it's a sure sign that you've
missed something else that is better hidden.

Be sure to look in the windows and system32 folders for files that are set
to hidden and/or system, that shouldn't be there. Go to a command prompt
and type:

dir /ah

and this will list hidden files. If you find hidden files that shouldn't be
there, use the attrib -s -h <filename> command to unhide them so you can
delete them.
