Message preview

I'd like to receive mail without the message automatically showing in the
preview pane. In Outlook I simply double clicked on the email received and
then could view the message. I can't seem to find the info online.

Go to View>Layout>Preview Pane>Uncheck Preview Pane>click Apply>click OK.
Should be the way you want it.
