Message: Outlook Send Not Working

I have recently installed Windows XP and Office
Professional on a new machine. I sent a couple of
messages successfully from Outlook. However, now when I
compose a message and click Send it closes the message
and places it in the Outbox, but not italicized. I have
opened the message, clicked Send, but it still remains
unitalicized. Consequently, when I Send/Receive my
message isn't sent. Can anyone tell me why the Outlook
Send isn't working and how to fix it?

I am having the exact same problem. Outlook send is not
working. The work around I have found is to drag the
message into the draft folder and click send on it
again. DO NOT OPEN your outbox or it will not allow you
to send. Just click the send button and it will go out.
Something is wrong with Outlook and I have not seen any
answer to this bug yet. This only started happening to
me in the past 3 -4 weeks. Using Outlook 2003.
