Some messages are stuck in the outbox.

Some messages are stuck in the outbox. Other messages get sent ok but these
oddballs just sit there. I have looked in the help section and got some
reasons why this happens but I can't tell how my circumstances relate. I
know this happens with some Tasks attached, but not allways. The unsent
items are listed in the Outbox unitalicized. If I open them, click "Send"
they stay unitalicized and do not send out when I push "Send and Receive".

Have you had a look at Q195922 in the Microsoft Knowledge
Base "How to troubleshoot mail stuck in the Outbox in
Outlook 2000".

I cannot understand how now when I "Send" the message, it becomes italicized
and ready to send out with "Send and Receive". I tried this repeatedly
without success earlier. There certainly seems to be inconsistancies here,
though I am confused and can't reproduce them with accuracy. Hmmmm.

I am using Outlook 2003--sorry I didn't mention that, though this seems to
be a common issue. Not with Outlook Express, though.

thanks for your response.

Perhaps something here will help:

Thanks for the reference, Brian. I hope I can draw on all this help when the
problem recurrs. It seems to be a long standing issue and I can't imagine
this not constituting a "Bug". Who would send a message and not want it to
be sent? There are stipulations for sending messages in Outlook that I am
not accustomed to adhering to in Outlook Express. Sorry to sound like a
whiner. Thanks again for the help here.
