Hi, Wes.

You were helping me the other day and I said I would post the error
message I was receiving when the Desktop tab in Display Properties
would disappear. Here it is:

The instruction at "0x7c901010" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The
memory could not be "read".

When I clicked the debug button on the error report, I got the
following:

Run a DLL as an App

Error Signature
AppName: rundll32.exe AppVer:5.1.2600.2180 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00001010

Let me know if this gives you a clue to anything. On Monday we're
going to try reinstalling all the drivers to see if that helps.

Does ntdll.dll relate to the Desktop properties?

Thanks for your assistance with this.

Hi Todd,
Try this:

You receive a "Rundll32.exe has encountered a problem" error message, or the
wrong USB device is removed when you try to remove a USB device on a Windows
XP-based computer

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/887740

Open Run command and type in: rundll32.exe setupapi. InstallHinfSection
DefaultInstall 132 %wind ir%\Inf\ie.inf click [OK]
HTH.
Let us know
Regs,
nass
