Message box appears with odd charcters when logging on???????

When I turn on my pc it goes to the log on screen for about 2 seconds and
then the screen turns black with a message box in the centre. The message
box contains 1 odd looking character and a button at the bottom of the window
to click OK.

If I click the OK button it goes to the log on screen and everything works
fine.

If I dont click the OK button the screen stays that way for about 2 minutes
then goes to the log on screen and everything works fine.

A different character appears in the box each time the pc is turned on and
quite often the character is a chinese character.

All this started to happen when my pc was infected with the mydoom virus, I
have cleaned the virus out and ran virus scans a number of times which have
come up all clear.

I have no idea what this is and have found no mention of this problem
anywhere else.

Has anbody else had this problem and does anybody know how to get rid of it?

This is the almost exact problem as mine (see www.spnelson.com) I don't get
any file names in the box just odd characters.
