Merging Multiple Docs in Word using color-coding

I'm trying to merge multiple documents in Word, and would like to
assign a different color (either text color or highlighted text) to
each line/word that is changed when a new document is added. (eg.,
Merging the first two documents highlights deleted text in red, and new
text in yellow, then merging the third document highlights deleted text
in orange, and new text in green.) Is this possible?

Sort of, but not exactly. You can use the Tools/Merge Documents
command to merge documents and display modifications as tracked
changes which I believe is what you want. What you can't have is the
specific colors since Word will automatically assign each author a
color and the same color for each author is used for insertions and
deletions.
