Menu Bar (special addin available?)

J

José Joye

I have tried to build a menu bar having this kind of design:
- Set a left margin from which the text will be written
- Set a picture for each the 3 states of the buttons (normal, over, activ)
- Set a color of the text for each of the 3 states.

I had a deep look at the navigation bar provided by the built-in Themes.
However, it did not fit my needs.
Is there an "addin" that could provide what I'm looking for?

For now, I have made some GIF of what I want and manage them using a script.
However, this is managable as long as the number of pages is relatively
small....

Thanks,
José

This sounds much more powerfull than the "menu bar". However, we have then
to manage by ourself the relation between button.
I mean that when we are on a page that is the target of a button, we have to
change the "src" attribut of the <img> tag so as to be the img of the
pressed button.
Am I correct saying that?

Thanks,
José

Thanks for the link (I went through the course ;-))

However, I still believe that I cannot use it as is. In fact, what I have
done so far is to use the shared borders. In the top and left borders pages,
I have (among other) added 2 menus.
In that sense, the buttons are not designed on each pages but on these 2
pages. This means, when loading a particular page, I have to play with a
script so as to tell which image has to be loaded as default image (eg:
image pressed for the button pointing to the current page and normal images
for all other.)

With Nav Bar/Nav View, I will be back to my initial problem.
This means only 1 font color, no right margin

there is a much simpler solution....

i use a dhtml menu maker called allwebmenus 3.1 pro.
it includes a free Frontpage component where you can link the menu to
all pages via the "Bottom Shared Border" feature.

you may create horizontal or drop-down menus (with images or not)

there is also a handy free sitemap feature

examples at http://www.likno.com

hope this helps
