Menu and file deletion problems

Hi I have 2 problems that I need help with.
The first is: When a CD is inserted into the drive, a popup window appears
giving me options e.g. rip cd, open in explorer, play cd etc. However there
are some options in the list for programs that have either been deleted or
just don't work. How do I get rid of them?

Second: I deleted a program but 1 folder remains and can't be deleted. The
folder is WinThemes Studio Plus. There are no files in the folder, I can't
change it's name and if I try and delete it it says "Cant delete. Can't read
from source file or disK" What do i do?

hasn't worked at all.
Dos comes up with C:\<Documents and settings> as default. I typed in DEL
WINTHEMES STUDIO PRO and hit enter.
It says either that there is a syntax error or it ignores the command and
does nothing. I installed MOVE ON BOOT but that doesn't work. I've tried to
shred it and wash it with Window Washer and that doesn't work. I have tried
to Eliminate it with Evidence Eliminator and that doesn't work. I don't have
the CD anymore, but it was uninstalled in the correct way but it left this
folder with nothing in it. I can move the folder but can't delete It.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

Let's say for example that the folder you are trying to is called 'test' and
is located in 'c:\temp'

c:\temp\test

You would use this command including the quotations.

del /a /f "\\?\c:\temp\*test*"

You had an extra C in your command line, here is the one you would use.

del /a /f "\\?\c:\Documents and settings\*WinThemes Studio Pro*"

The location of this folder is very strange, Normally user profiles are
stored in this directory. Could you type this in the Run dialog box

control userpasswords2

and see if there is an account name for this folder. If so, delete the
account, reboot and delete the folder.

Hi William and thankyou for your patience.
I performed the run command with control userpasswords2
and got to accounts 1. Administrator- Debugger Users, Administrators
2. ASPNET - Users. The file is here in Documents and settings because when I
go into dos it will only let me see C:\Documents and settings, So I moved it
there from the program files directory.

I tried running your command line but it it says that it could not find the
directory.

Sorry but any other ideas.

Have you try booting into Safe Mode and deleting the file.

You can boot into safe mode by typing

msconfig

in the Run dialog box. When msconfig appears, click on the BOOT.INI tab and
select /SAFEBOOT. Click APPLY and then OK. Restart the computer. This should
boot the computer into SAFE MODE. Try deleting the file there.

This part is very important, to boot the Computer into a normal boot up, you
must reverse the changes made in msconfig. Type

msconfig

in the Run dialog box. When msconfig appears, select "Normal Startup - load
all device drivers and services" under the General Tab. Click APPLY and the
OK. Restart the computer.
