"The instruction at 0x77f41d24 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory
could not be written" access violation error message in Smlogsvc.exe when you
use Performance Logs and Alerts on a Windows XP-based computer

What are your anti-spyware arrangements?

A complete copy of the Event Viewer Report might help us to diagnose the
problem.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Update it how? Do you mean from the Windows Update web site? What updates
were applied? Have you tried removing those specific updates using
Add/Remove programs, then do a system restore to before the updates were
applied?

Have seen similar regarding ccsetmgr.exe (NAV 2004). Only happened at
shutdown intermittently. Went away for no reason apparent to me.

I was playing with enabling/disabling write caching to all onboard physical
hard drives in device manager. Left it disabled for a couple of days.
After putting it back to enable, the problem has not reoccurred since. Its
been a month or so.
