SVCHOST.EXE error message

I get the following error and have been unable to troubleshoot it. I could
use help please:

svchost.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x009d96bc" referenced memory at "0x00000000." The
memory could not be "written."

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Check out the event viewer to see if there's anything in there.
Try requesting the patch from this KB article also:

In our case we had many computers on the network having the similar problem.
We've fixed it applying these two patches:
