Memory card reader problems

I'll keep it short and hopefully simple...

My floppy drive has an in-built multi-format memory card reader which
has stopped working.

I recently have installed a new hard drive and done a clean install of
windows XP pro SP2; those are the only two major changes however, the
card-reader was working fine after both of those. Any ideas on how to
fix it or just point me in the right direction to start
troubleshooting.

Open up and check the cables again - perhaps something was a little loose
and finally fell out when you put it all back together, after you checked
that all was OK.
