Meeting Invites

Hello,
When I send people meeting invites some of the invites are received as
an email and not a meeting invite. All people have POP3 email accounts. Is
this a setting in the senders or receivers outlook program ?

Thanks,
Tony

Is the offending version of Outlook 2000? If yes, there is a known bug for
which Microsoft has a hotfix. You can also have the senders uncheck the
reminder in invitations sent to Outlook 2000 users.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Tony Tuccillo asked:

Thank you for your reply Milly. Yes it is Outlook 2000. Can you direct me to
the hotfix you mention. Also, how does unchecking the reminders help ?

Thanks,
Tony

The reminder has a bug that when read by Outlook 2000, is parsed incorrectly
and causes the text message, rather than the meeting invite as intended.

Let me go look for the Hotfix article, or you can google it and find the
reply from Sue Mosher - Outlook MVP who has posted it often. I will
probably not be able to get back to this before tomorrow, so your best best
is groups.google.com.

Hi Milly,
Thank you for the info. I found the messages from Sue Mosher. However the
link to the hotfix goes to a generic Microsoft page. Would you be able to
list here exactly where to find this hotfix ?

Thanks,
Tony

The hotfix article is at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823199 . YOu
must call Microsoft Support to get it.

Milly, what if the Outlook is version 2002? I cannot pass appointments
anymore to my wife after my Outlook was updated to 2003.

Milly,

Sue answered the Q in a different thread, as below:

Try asking the sender to mark your address for rich-text format in his
Contacts list.
How: Open the contact. Double-click the email address. Make the change there.
